4Dviews has established itself in the volumetric capture market, which is the capture of 3D video. With its creation and post-production tools, 4Dviews helps creators create more realistic immersive experiences. 4Dviews will be exhibiting at Laval Virtual on April 12-14, 2023, on booth A71. Interview with Yash Bhatia, Marketing Communications Manager.

Can you present your company?

Since 2007, 4Dviews has been the market leader in volumetric capture. With more than a decade and a half of experience in the field, we’ve created a volumetric video ecosystem to help content creators maximize their storytelling potential. We believe that real humans with real emotions are the key to increasing immersion in digital experiences. With the HOLOSYS and 4Dfx, we help content creators achieve this goal.

What will you exhibit at Laval Virtual 2023?

At Laval Virtual 2023, we’ll be showcasing two of our products in the volumetric video ecosystem. Our flagship product HOLOSYS, enables our clients to create volumetric video, for their AR/VR experience. Our post-processing software, 4Dfx, enables content creators to edit their volumetric video to add creative effects like transitions, morphing, object tracking, colour replacement, low-poly and slow-motion. This adds a level of realism and creativity never seen before in this field.

Laval Virtual is celebrating its 25th edition this year. Do you have any memories to share since the first edition in 1999?

It has been a pleasure for 4Dviews to attend Laval Virtual as an exhibitor. Laval Virtual always has one of the most dedicated audiences in the XR space, thanks to its long-standing history. We’ve met a lot of interesting people and formed lasting business relationships thanks to this event.

The world of immersive tech was shaken up by the rise of the Metaverse and virtual worlds. What is your opinion on these?

The Metaverse and virtual worlds are here to stay in some form or the other. We’re increasingly seeing the convergence of the real world and the virtual world, thanks to XR technologies being used in our day-to-day life. Ultimately, the adoption of such technologies in our daily life is dependent on their utility and value to the end-customer.

How do you see the VR world in 10 years?

As we discover more and more applications of VR, it’s only natural for the general consumer to take notice. The VR boom started during the pandemic and has been increasing steadily since then.

Companies in this sector are maximizing the technology on-hand and finding new ways to drive adoption. We believe that as content creation in this field increases, so will the adoption of these technologies over the next 10 years.
