Synergiz, a company that creates collaborative and interactive solutions, uses mixed reality<\/a>. It offers its clients the possibility of enriching the presentation of their products. Marie-Pierre Verrier, from the Institut Arts et Métiers de Laval, presented a project related to the LEGO brand and in collaboration with PTC.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mixed reality is the fusion of real and virtual worlds, making it possible to interact between people, information and the environment. Whether it’s an operator on a production line, a team of designers or a technician on site, mixed reality gives people in the field new ways of consulting and interacting with information. Synergiz<\/a> is directly involved in this world through its comprehensive range of hardware, software and service solutions, facilitating the adoption of these new practices in the daily lives of professionals, both in France and abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a Microsoft Gold Mixed Reality Partner, and in partnership with PTC and Trimble, Synergiz is now recognised as the leading player in Mixed Reality in France. Through its collaboration with PTC, Synergiz offers its customers the possibility to upgrade their products and enrich their objects with cross-platform applications. In order to highlight these capabilities, via PTC Vuforia Engine, Synergiz launched the LEGO demonstrator. This project is supervised by Eva Meurice, a master’s student at the Arts et Métiers Institute in Laval<\/a>, as part of a professionalization contract.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How does the Lego demonstrator meet a need? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is often not easy for a company or manufacturer to demonstrate in real time the usefulness of a product, to see it in motion, in a specific environment. Thanks to the HoloLens technology in mixed reality and PTC Vuforia Engine, the developers of the company from Saint-Malo (Brittany, France) create unique experiences where the virtual is superimposed on the real, where the interactions between these two worlds are natural.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why the Lego project and not another object?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Born from a desire to highlight its collaboration with PTC (creator of the Vuforia range), Synergiz’s project is to stage the figurine in contexts that speak to the companies that may be called upon to collaborate with Synergiz. The 20 cm wooden figurine produced by LEGO acts as a demonstrator. Everyone knows the LEGO figure! Synegiz uses it to highlight their story, to give fans of the brand a new way of appreciating this product. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the technology behind it: the object detection possible with the PTC Vuforia Engine<\/a>, aims to place 3D content<\/a> on the flagship product of an average customer. This can be an augmentation of industrial equipment, a consumer or luxury product or an artistic work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How was the application produced and what was the purpose of its creation?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The application was created on Unity with the MRTK (Multi-platform Development Kit, specialised on HoloLens), Vuforia, using the Universal Render Pipeline (URP), as a POC. The LEGO application is intended to be adaptable to the HoloLens application on a smartphone or tablet. The goal is to be able to collaborate in the future, to be able to live the experience with several people with real-time synchronisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
