Every year, the Laval Virtual Awards ceremony rewards the best <\/span>VR \/ AR projects<\/b> of the year. In 2024, twelve prizes were given to highlight <\/span>immersive companies<\/b> and <\/span>XR creators<\/b>. Among the winning projects, there is VEE in the category “Virtual Worlds & Metaverse”, with the ambition to transform the AEC industry by using the <\/span>metaverse<\/b>. Interview with Francesco Cappilli, Founder and Engineering Director of BIMaking Engineering.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you present the project that received a prize at the Laval Virtual Awards 2024 ?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

VEE (Virtual Environment Eyes) project has the potential to <\/span>revolutionize the architecture<\/b>, engineering and construction (AEC) industry in a number of ways. Some of the potential applications are design and collaboration, virtual tours, construction training and maintenance and repair.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, architects and engineers can <\/span>use metaverse to design<\/b> and collaborate on construction projects in a virtual environment. This would enable them to see their projects within a more realistic framework, and to quickly identify and resolve potential problems. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, customers can use the metaverse to<\/span> take<\/b> virtual tours of buildings <\/b>prior to construction. This allows them to better understand the space and make changes to the design before it’s too late. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Construction workers can use the metaverse to<\/span> learn new techniques and equipment. This would improve safety and efficiency on the site. At last, the metaverse can be used to <\/span>monitor and maintain buildings in real time<\/b>. This would identify problems at an early stage and avoid costly repairs. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The metaverse is still in its infancy, but it has the potential to transform the architecture and construction industry. As the technology develops, we can expect to see even <\/span>more innovative applications<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

What was your motivation when applying for the Laval Virtual Awards?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

How did you experience your first participation in Europe’s biggest XR event?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our first virtual experience at<\/span> the largest XR event in Europe<\/b> was truly out of this world! While we couldn’t be there in person, the immersive experience was nothing short of extraordinary. The innovations and creativity we witnessed have left us eager to dive deeper into the XR universe. We’re already counting down the days until we can experience the next edition in person!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What were the benefits of this award given by a jury of international experts? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This prestigious award, conferred by a panel of international experts, has catapulted our company onto the global stage. The recognition has opened doors to <\/span>unparalleled networking opportunities<\/b>, connecting us with industry visionaries who are shaping the future of XR. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our visibility has soared, resulting in a<\/span> significant increase in leads <\/b>and inquiries from both domestic and international markets.
