Can you introduce your company?

Scale-1 Portal was founded in 2014. We specialise in creating business solutions using immersive technologies, both software and hardware. We are involved in all phases of our customers’ projects: needs analysis, R&D support, software & 3D content creation, process deployment, delivery of ready-to-use solutions, or even complete immersive rooms. Thanks to our experience and broad view of the market, we are able to recommend or implement the most effective solutions for our customers, both in terms of budget and return on investment.

What will your company show at Laval Virtual 2024?

At Laval Virtual, we’ll be showcasing our leading mixed reality products and creations on the brand new Apple Vision Pro headset. It’s a great opportunity for our customers and prospects to discover the headset and our expertise. Deploying mixed reality for our customers is our priority at the moment.

What innovation do you think has most transformed the world of VR/AR?

Although highly controversial, it has to be said that the technological advances proposed by Meta and Apple are really driving forward the penetration of the XR in all markets. You only have to look back 5 years to see how far virtual reality (VR) alone has come. Apple has been pushing augmented reality (AR) since 2007 and now offers an immersive product that sets the benchmark. While this breakthrough is not as spectacular as artificial intelligence (AI), it is clear that, little by little, these technologies are becoming known, accepted and assimilated by the public.

The baseline of our 26th edition is “Act For The Future”. In your opinion, how can immersive technologies impact the world of tomorrow?

In a world where everything has to move faster and faster, immersive technologies are essential for speeding up decisions, avoiding mistakes before building a product, understanding the uses of an object before it exists, working better, making better decisions. But also to have fun. In tomorrow’s world, technologies will continue to improve in order to find the right balance between physiological acceptability, usage and social factors.
