Quest Games Optimizer is an app designed to enhance the performance of virtual reality headsets. The developer, recognized in the immersive world as Anagan79, started this journey solo with a single aim: to unlock the full potential of Meta Quest VR headsets and deliver gaming experiences on par with PCVR. From April 11-13, he will be showcasing and testing his unique solution at the Laval Virtual event.
Can you tell us more about your company?
I created Quest Games Optimizer back in January 2022 with a clear objective: unlock the full potential of Meta Quest VR headsets to offer an optimal gaming experience. My starting point was a simple but widely shared observation: VR games on these headsets often suffer from blurred, pixelated rendering, a lack of fluidity, or excessive power consumption.
My application addresses these issues by improving the autonomy, performance and graphics quality of standalone VR games. But it doesn’t stop there! It also acts as an application launcher, offering new features not available in the Meta system, making it even more intuitive and complete for everyday use.
Finally, Quest Games Optimizer offers advanced options for video recording and 3D capture, enabling users to optimize and customize their experience according to their needs. Our ambition is to provide an all-in-one solution that revolutionizes the use of standalone VR headsets.
What will you exhibit at Laval Virtual?
At Laval Virtual, we’ll be presenting Quest Games Optimizer, an application designed to enhance the virtual reality experience for gamers and professionals alike. We will also be open to partnerships to collaborate with other industry players and enrich existing experiences.
Are you planning any activities or demos at your booth?
Absolutely! We’ll be offering in-game tests of our application to demonstrate the improvements before and after optimisation. We’ll also be offering a detailed demonstration of the tool, as well as a workshop dedicated to 3D video capture.
Visitors will also be able to enter a competition to win licenses, and we’ll be holding a question-and-answer session for direct discussion.
Does your company have an upcoming project to share with us and our visitors?
Our current major project is to enhance the capabilities of our Meta Quest and optimize almost the entire catalog of existing games. We want to offer a must-have application for exploiting the full potential of Meta Quest, without the restrictions imposed by Meta.
In practical terms, this means that the gaming experience can be enhanced quickly and efficiently, without the need for high development costs. The application upgrades all games, old and new, without requiring any action on the developer’s part. With a single click, you get a graphics upgrade that’s the equivalent of upgrading from a Playstation 2 to a Playstation 3, for just €10.
In addition, we offer an advanced, customizable application launcher, as well as advanced video recording options to enrich the user experience.
In your business sector, how is your solution transforming the field?
Quest Games Optimizer has had a major impact on the gaming industry. With over 100,000 convinced users, our application has become indispensable for many gamers, who no longer want to use their headset without it. For the majority of games, the difference before and after use is spectacular.
Quest Games Optimizer has transformed virtual reality, making it more accessible and more enjoyable, while offering a much better image of standalone games, which are often considered blurry and less accomplished compared to PCVR. Thanks to our solution, the visual quality of certain optimized games sometimes reaches the level of PCVR, and the VR experience in general is now much richer. The application boosts all games, offering users real added value and a complete product that fully exploits the potential of their VR headset.
Sustainability and the environment are key topics of this century. How do you cope with these concerns in your XR technologies?
From an energy perspective, it depends on the optimizations you implement. Some improvements, like optimizing VR experiences, may increase battery usage, while, conversely, applying ‘battery-saving’ optimization profiles can help extend battery life.
When considering the future of VR, an application like Quest Games Optimizer is crucial. It significantly improves the user experience and marks a true advancement for virtual reality. With this app, an optimized Meta Quest 3 delivers performance that rivals the potential of a Quest 4.
