InTech is a Luxembourgish company specialising in the development and deployment of technology solutions. With innovation at its core, InTech excels at seizing opportunities in the new technology market. The firm conceived intelligent and evolving 3D avatars that can interact with humans. They will be at the Laval Virtual event (April 10-13, 2025). We interviewed Sébastien Larose, Director of Innovation at InTech.

What will you show at Laval Virtual?
During Laval Virtual, our Innovation & Development team will present several innovative solutions designed to revolutionize interaction between users and computers.
First, our 3D intelligent and evolving avatars. They can talk in the mother tongue of the visitors, who interact with a natural language voice to ask questions. Subjects are informed by personalized and controlled data sources, offering precise, contextualized and reliable answers. Thanks to the integration of advanced control mechanisms, they guarantee knowledge control while preventing errors and hallucinations, ensuring smooth, safe interaction.
Our avatars are not simple interfaces but true smart avatars, able to take on many different roles to enhance the user experience (for example, coach, trainer, historical character, digital sales representative, company assistant, health agent, etc). Depending on the role, each avatar has configurable behaviours and abilities to execute specific tasks. For example, health agents can provide preventive care to patients and guide them through their healthcare pathway.
Developed with advanced language models, our avatars benefit from enhanced contextual understanding to give precise and adapted answers. Their configuration interface is equipped with complex flow management rules and advanced safeguards to control precisely the quality of answers. There is an advanced customization feature in order to adjust their behaviour and their tone according to the situation. Connectors allow to integrate them with industry-specific applications and other external sources. Finally, they have intelligent automatisation and can execute complex and repetitive tasks.
We will also present immersive experiences of our clients that illustrate our skills in creating engaging interactive 3D environments. For example, we created an interactive experience for a restaurant in Paris, with projection and mapping features on a jungle theme. We also collaborated with the Luxembourg National Museum of Natural History to create an augmented visit with interactif aquariums and an immersive film with extinct marine creatures, to immerse visitors in the world of Jurassic sea monsters.
For the Stereopsia event and the Paris fashion week, we imagined experiences that ally IoT, AI, avatar and 3D immersion to enhance interaction and artworks and installations. These concrete projects show the impact of our solutions in various fields of activity and redefine the user experience with more immersive, intuitive and intelligent interactions.
Are you planning any activities or demonstrations for visitors?
To begin with, visitors will have the opportunity to interact with a conversational AI avatar in real-time, which will be evolving in a virtual environment on a vertical screen. Thanks to vocal recognition, the visitors can modify the environment with voice, illustrating the potential of artificial intelligence and immersive technologies to improve the Human-Machine interaction.
In addition, they will also be able to communicate with an avatar wearing a virtual reality (VR) headset, living a fascinating immersive experience and reinforcing the impact of interactions in mixed reality.
Then, our partner Dynalips will present its advanced lip-synchronization and dynamic gesture technology, making 3D avatars able to reproduce facial expressions and natural movements with precision. This demonstration will highlight how these advancements improve the realism, engagement, and fluidity of digital interactions.
Do you have an innovation you are working on and would like to share with us?
On the one hand, we are developing an agentic platform that can be used to create conversational 3D avatars. This solution in designed to be easily integrated to any existing tool or application, which offers optimal flexibility and adaptability.
On the other hand, we are designing interactive immersive experiences, using sensors such as cameras, coupled with advanced AI models. These technologies allow users to interact in real-time with dynamic screens or projections, in order to have greater immersion and innovative interactivity. They open the gates to new ethical uses that we can apply to any business field.
The goal is to offer participants a fun and immersive discovery of the latest VR and AR progress, while highlighting innovations in terms of digital communication and artificial intelligence.
In your sector of activity, how is your solution helping to transform this field?
We are a company dedicated to providing technological support to our clients through innovative products and services. Our solutions allow our clients to design and deploy applications while accelerating their time-to-market. We help them transform their ideas into concrete digital solutions at odds with their ecosystem, that creates value for their own clients and are part of a sustainable economic model.
Sustainability and the environment are key issues for this century. How do you integrate these concerns into your XR technologies?
Our 3D avatars and AI agents solution contributes to reducing the carbon footprint because it offers remote immersive experiences, which limits business travel and face-to-face training.
Inside our company, we develop a SCR conversational avatar, designed to raise awareness among our employees about environmental challenges. Thanks to engaging immersive experiences, this avatar is an asset to promote consciousness and a gradual adoption of eco-responsible actions.
We are aware that digital technologies represent 4% of global CO2 emissions. So we are engaged in an ecodesign approach to minimize the environmental impact of our solutions. We optimize server resources and reduce energy consumption with tools developed by our team that measure the degree of ecodesign. We use responsible hosting and a sovereign cloud service that has optimized data centers to limit the carbon footprint of our shareholder, Post Luxembourg. We design our solutions to ensure maximum compatibility with both old and new equipment, extending their lifespan and reducing the production of electronic waste.
