Founded in 2016, Actronika provides haptic solutions, especially equipment, for immersive experiences. The company is exhibiting at the next edition of Laval Virtual. Actronika is bringing the latest version of its haptic vest Skinetic. The new vest includes wireless connectivity, more available contents and an Audio-to-Haptics feature. This new version of the haptic vest can be tested on April 9-11, 2025.

Can you tell us more about your company?

Actronika was founded in 2016 with the mission of re-engaging the public in an increasingly digital world by bringing physical interactions into digital experiences.

Leveraging our patented vibrotactile actuator technology, we develop haptic solutions that seamlessly integrate touch functions into human-machine interfaces. Our technology enhances safety, smoothness, and comfort, making it highly versatile—whether improving smartphone interactions, reducing distractions in-vehicle touchscreens, or delivering immersive experiences through haptic wearables.

Our expertise led to the creation of Skinetic, a high-definition haptic vest capable of delivering over 200 realistic sensations for unparalleled immersion in digital worlds. Additionally, we developed Unitouch Suite, a comprehensive software ecosystem that simplifies haptic design and integration, making it accessible for developers across industries.

At Actronika, we are committed to redefining digital interactions by enabling multi-sensory engagement, bridging the gap between the physical and virtual worlds.

What will you exhibit at Laval Virtual?

At Laval Virtual, we will offer attendees the ultimate immersive experience by enabling physical interaction with digital environments through Skinetic. This innovative vest delivers unparalleled immersion thanks to more than 200 unique haptic sensations. These are made possible by 20 precisely placed vibrotactile actuators, which together replicate the full spectrum of tactile experiences.

For this edition, we’re excited to unveil several major updates. The Skinetic vest has been redesigned to offer optimal comfort with an adjustable fit that adapts to every user. We’ve also expanded the content library, which now includes support for titles such as H3VR, Arizona Sunshine, Blade & Sorcery, VR Chat, and all Bhaptics-supported content. Compatibility with even more games is currently in development. In addition, the vest now features wireless connectivity via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, removing the need for cables and significantly enhancing user mobility. One of the most exciting features is our Audio-to-Haptics technology, which converts any sound-based content—whether it’s a game, a movie, or music—into real-time haptic feedback. This allows users to truly feel their favorite digital experiences like never before.

Whether it’s for gaming, virtual training, or immersive storytelling, Skinetic is redefining how people engage with digital worlds. Don’t miss the chance to try it for yourself at Laval Virtual!

Are you planning any activities or demos at your booth?

Yes! At Laval Virtual, we will be offering a variety of immersive experiences to showcase the full potential of the Skinetic vest. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience haptics in VR gaming, engage with nature-inspired and action sensations and test our Audio-to-Haptics feature. These hands-on demonstrations will allow visitors to fully explore how haptics transform digital interactions, making them more realistic, engaging, and unforgettable.

What is your company’s current innovation?

Our latest innovation, Skinetic, is a high-definition haptic vest designed to elevate tactile feedback in digital interactions. What sets it apart is its 20 precisely positioned vibrotactile actuators, capable of delivering over 200 distinct sensations. By seamlessly integrating visual, auditory, and tactile stimuli, Skinetic enhances realism and engagement, making digital experiences feel closer to reality.

A key aspect of Skinetic’s innovation is its spatialized haptic feedback, which allows sensations to be more natural and fluid, accurately simulating real-world interactions. From the outset, our goal was to develop hardware that not only enhances immersion in VR but also provides a plug-and-play solution for multisensory digital experiences.

One of our most significant advancements is the integration of Audio-to-Haptics technology via the Skinetic HUB. Unlike traditional systems that rely solely on bass amplification, our proprietary algorithm analyzes the entire audio spectrum in real-time, generating a synchronized haptic track. This enables users to feel the full depth of multimedia content—whether it’s movies, online concerts, videos, or both VR and non-VR games—with a level of precision and detail unmatched by existing solutions.

Additionally, Skinetic’s ergonomic design ensures optimal actuator contact with the skin, adapting to different body types for maximum performance. To enhance usability, the vest now features wireless connectivity via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, removing cable constraints and improving mobility.

By combining high-fidelity haptics, real-time audio analysis, and ergonomic adaptability, Skinetic represents a major step forward in creating truly immersive and multisensory digital interactions.

How is your solution transforming your business field?

Skinetic’s high-definition haptic technology is redefining user engagement, immersion, and inclusion across multiple industries. By integrating realistic tactile sensations, the way people interact with digital environments is being transformed, making experiences not only more immersive but also more accessible.

One of the key applications of this technology lies in cultural and heritage exhibitions. Through European initiatives such as the MuseIT project, Skinetic contributes to making art and history more inclusive, allowing visitors to experience exhibitions through the sense of touch. In a similar vein, the PRESENCE project uses the haptic vest to enhance the realism of virtual social interactions, creating a deeper sense of connection within digital spaces.

The cultural and creative industries have also embraced this innovation. For example, in The Poetry of Water by Maxi Cohen, presented by XRArt at the Leila Heller Gallery in Dubai and developed in collaboration with dArt.nyc, Skinetic enabled visitors from around the world to not only admire the artwork but also to create and physically feel it. This experience was made possible through a combination of real-time EEG technology, VR headsets, and haptics. Another example is an immersive VR storytelling project developed with Mirror, where users could shape a digital world and feel every interaction thanks to Skinetic’s high-fidelity haptics.

In the realm of marketing, Skinetic collaborated with Atomic Digital Design and Magic Leap to deliver a groundbreaking multi-sensory immersive campaign. By combining Skinetic’s HD haptic sensations with augmented reality glasses, the experience created a new way to engage audiences through richly layered, interactive narratives. The technology also featured in an interactive tech showcase at LEAP 2025, developed with Power Interactive. In this context, Skinetic allowed visitors to feel digital interactions through HD haptics—even without the use of a VR headset.

Through these diverse collaborations, Skinetic is continually pushing the boundaries of digital interaction. By making experiences more realistic, engaging, and inclusive, haptic technology is revolutionizing the way users connect with art, entertainment, marketing, and virtual environments. It is opening up entirely new possibilities for innovation across industries.

Sustainability and the environment are key topics of this century. How do you cope with these concerns in your XR technologies?

At Actronika, we integrate sustainability into our XR technologies through easy replacement and reparability, extending product lifespan and reducing waste. Our modular design prevents premature disposal, minimizing environmental impact.

As immersive technologies evolve, the focus must be on durability, energy efficiency, and eco-friendly materials. By prioritizing these elements, we aim to create high-quality, long-lasting solutions that enhance digital experiences while promoting a more responsible tech industry.
