CEA-List is a research institute specializing in digital technologies. Its research focuses on intelligent robotics, digital engineering and responsible AI. The institute will be present at the Laval Virtual VR / AR exhibition, to present interactive simulation and generative AI solutions. Meet the team there on April 9-11, 2025.
Can you tell us more about your company?
CEA-List gathers near 1,000 engineers-researchers and technicians working on smart digital systems. Together, they develop high value-added innovations able to meet today’s major socio-economic challenges.
CEA-List’s R&D programmes focus on the industry of the future, holistic digital twin, artificial intelligence and digital trust. They contribute to the industrial competitiveness of its partners through innovation and technology transfer.
Based in Paris-Saclay and Grenoble, the CEA-List is one of the three technological research institutes of CEA’s technological research department.
What will you exhibit at Laval Virtual?
CEA-List will present several demos including the XDE Platform dedicated to interactive physical simulation and interoperable with Open USD in Unreal Engine 5, Omniverse and Unity3D. There will also be demos in 3DGS and generative AI.
Are you planning any activities or demos at your booth?
First, in a photorealistic 3D Gaussian Splatting environment captured from simple photos, the user will be able to add 3D GS objects generated by AI (text to 3D) and with which they can interact through touch and manipulation.
Visitors will also be able to perform complex assembly tasks in Omniverse with a Vision Pro. They can also dismantle parts of a nuclear power plant using a Haption force feedback arm.
How is your solution transforming your business field?
CEA-List’s various solutions will transform the world of manufacturing and training thanks to XR technology, photo-realism and interactive multi-physics simulation.
Sustainability and the environment are key topics of this century. How do you cope with these concerns in your XR technologies?
Today, XR technologies help to drastically reduce the cost and lead time of a new product, and therefore avoid the need to produce physical prototypes.
