At the heart of the development of assisted reality, Get Your Way has developed aRdent®, connected glasses for the industrial sector. The Belgian company will soon be launching a web platform designed to help operators with their daily tasks and technical manipulations. The official launch of this platform, called ProcessPilot, will take place at Laval Virtual 2024. The Get Your Way team will be on booth A26 from 10 to 12 April. Interview with Nicolas Dessambre, CEO.
Can you introduce your company?
Get Your Way (GYW) is an innovative start-up based in Belgium, specialising in the development of assisted reality solutions designed to optimise and digitise manual operations in the industrial sector. Founded in 2019 at the University of Liège (FACSA), GYW benefits from the support of the WSL technology accelerator, testifying to its potential and credibility in the field of advanced technologies.
GYW’s flagship product is aRdent®, a pair of connected glasses designed to enhance digital interaction while keeping operators’ hands free. The main aim of this innovation is to facilitate manual operations in various industrial environments, making procedures more efficient, reducing errors and improving data traceability. In addition to designing and developing the aRdent® connected glasses, GYW develops associated software solutions, such as ProcessPilot. ProcessPilot is a web-based platform that simplifies the management and execution of manual operations and work procedures in the industrial environment. By combining the technology of aRdent® glasses and a portable keypad, ProcessPilot offers an interactive and intuitive solution, guiding operators through their daily tasks to optimise precision, efficiency and job satisfaction.
GYW operates mainly in the B2B sector, working with industrial customers for whom it designs and develops complete solutions. Its customers include well-known companies such as Safran, La Citadelle, Trasis and others, demonstrating the effectiveness and added value of its solutions in the industrial sector. The GYW team, which will graduate from university in 2021, is made up of 4 full-time members. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, the team stands out for its dynamism and innovation, essential characteristics for meeting the challenges of digitalising and optimising industrial operations as part of the transition to Industry 4.0.
What will your company show at Laval Virtual 2024?
At Laval Virtual 2024, Get Your Way will be presenting an exclusive and particularly innovative new product: our ProcessPilot platform. This platform represents a major advance in our range of assisted reality solutions for the industrial sector. ProcessPilot is designed to revolutionise the way manual operations and work processes are managed and executed, by leveraging our connected glasses technology, aRdent®, and a wearable keypad.
ProcessPilot stands out as a complete and intuitive solution, offering industrial operators an interactive guide to navigate through their daily tasks with optimised efficiency, precision and job satisfaction. The platform transforms complex instructions into simple, easy-to-follow steps, displayed directly in the user’s field of vision via the aRdent glasses. It allows operators to verify information, encode numerical values or enter textual data, ensuring accurate and complete documentation of every task performed.
The launch of ProcessPilot at Laval Virtual 2024 marks an important milestone for Get Your Way, underlining our commitment to innovation and delivering cutting-edge solutions for Industry 4.0. We are confident that ProcessPilot will capture the attention of industry professionals at the exhibition with its unique approach to simplifying and digitising workflows, reinforcing our position as a leader in the field of industrial assistive reality.
What is your company’s current innovation?
Get Your Way’s main innovation lies in our market innovation strategy, which consists of simplifying and democratising assisted reality with our aRdent® product and our ProcessPilot platform. More than a technological breakthrough, our approach aims to make this technology widely accessible for a variety of industrial applications, encouraging the emergence of new uses. aRdent® stands out for its minimalist design, transferring computing power to an external device such as a portable keypad, to offer an optimised user experience: light, comfortable, and without the constraints of weight, complexity or cost. This approach makes it easy to adopt in rigorous industrial environments.
ProcessPilot amplifies our market innovation by converting complex procedures into simple, intuitive tasks. Thanks to the interaction between aRdent® and the keypad, the platform guides operators effectively, improving efficiency and job satisfaction while facilitating access to digitised work instructions directly in the user’s field of vision. Our innovation therefore transcends the technological framework to focus on how technology is integrated and exploited in industry, paving the way for widespread adoption. By making assisted reality simpler, more comfortable and accessible, we are opening up opportunities to improve industrial processes and explore new use cases, actively contributing to the drive towards Industry 4.0.
What innovation do you think has most transformed the world of VR/AR?
In my opinion, the innovation that has most marked and transformed the world of VR/AR is Google Glass. Despite its mixed commercial reception, Google Glass has played a pioneering role, paving the way for the exploration and adoption of augmented reality. The project highlighted the challenges and opportunities associated with integrating AR technology into everyday life, profoundly influencing future developments in the sector. Indeed, Google Glass has acted as a catalyst, encouraging other companies to pursue innovation in VR/AR, learning from its limitations to improve the technology.
The baseline of our 26th edition is “Act For The Future”. In your opinion, how can immersive technologies impact the world of tomorrow?
The ‘Act For The Future‘ baseline underlines the importance of using immersive technologies to shape a positive future. In my opinion, the major impact of these technologies lies in their ability to counterbalance the current trend towards complexity in the modern world. Get Your Way has set itself apart by developing technologies, such as aRdent® and ProcessPilot, that counteract this complexification by simplifying processes and making them accessible, particularly in the industrial sector.
