As a regular exhibitor at Laval Virtual, IDEM will once again be offering its VR/AR hardware rental services on the event floor. Between environmental issues and constant innovation by suppliers, IDEM has to keep up with market trends and continually adapt its solutions. We interviewed David Maty, Director of Operations, who chatted with us about the advantages of renting in a resource and energy-hunger sector.
Can you tell us more about your company?
For over 30 years, IDEM has been offering IT equipment and VR/AR hardware rental solutions. We provide rentals from one day and one piece of equipment up to several weeks or even months. Our product range includes dozens or hundreds of high-tech and immersive devices.
What will you exhibit at Laval Virtual?
Our offer at the exhibition focuses on short-term rental solutions for virtual and augmented reality headsets. Not forgetting central processing units (CPUs) or laptops with large graphics cards.
The brands on display include models from the Meta, Pico, HTC, HoloLens 2, HP Omen ranges, and many more! In our booth, we’ll be running rental cost simulations to highlight the relevance of these solutions for visitors’ business.
Does your company have any innovation to share with us and our visitors?
In terms of innovation, we frequently keep track of developments in VR headsets and hardware. Our aim is to meet the technical expectations of our customers, especially AR and VR users and developers.
In your business sector, how is your solution transforming the field?
We enable companies to test equipment before purchasing it. We also help companies who need to carry out projects requiring a large number of devices, such as VR or AR headsets, or CPUs with large configurations, but without the constraints of mass purchasing.
Sustainability and the environment are key topics of this century. How do you cope with these concerns in your XR technologies?
We are ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certified, and opting for a short-term rental rather than a purchase is more respectful of the environment and its resources.
