Since 2016, Immersive Display has been supplying virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) headsets and accessories to professionals and individuals around the world. With more than 20,000 customers and 200 hardware references, the French company is the European leader in the sale of VR accessories. It also offers other services, such as headset customisation and stereoscopy. The Immersive Display team will be at Laval Virtual on APril 10-12, 2024, on stand B42. Interview with Stéphane Deuil, CEO.

Can you introduce your company?

Immersive Display is a French company specialising in the sale of hardware and accessories for virtual reality and augmented reality. Since 2016, we have been offering a complete range of headsets and accessories at the best prices to optimise your immersive experience with over 200 references on our e-shop: HTC VIVE, HP, Pico, Meta Quest, Microsoft and many other well-known brands in the sector. With over 20,000 customers, deliveries to over 80 countries and almost 200,000 unique visitors a year, the company is Europe’s leading retailer of VR accessories.

This year, Immersive Display is diversifying and offering you a new service to match your image: personalisation by UV printing on your VR helmet and/or accessories (carry bag, external protection, etc.) for optimum visibility at events, demonstrations or any other occasion.

What will your company show at Laval Virtual 2024?

We’ll be showcasing our online sales activity, our brand new tailor-made customisation service and also our core business, which we were doing long before Immersive Display was founded: stereoscopy. What’s new for this 2024 edition is that we’ll be representing French Tech Laval alongside other well-known companies from Mayenne in the XR sector.

What is your company’s current project?

Following strong demand for VR equipment customisation, Immersive Display is diversifying to offer a new dedicated service: customisation of VR equipment. Directly printed by our team in our Laval warehouse, we have chosen not to subcontract and to offer you a quality customer service: from the purchase of the headset and/or accessory through to delivery and customisation.

The aim of this service is to enhance the VR experience of our customers or future customers by offering a tailor-made service at attractive prices, from one piece with a fast delivery time. For our launch, we will only be taking potential orders offline via our contact form or by phone call.

What innovation do you think has most transformed the world of VR/AR?

Perhaps the innovation that has most transformed and advanced the world of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) is the rise of immersive VR headsets and associated technologies. Companies such as Meta, HTC, Pico and others have introduced high-performance VR headsets such as the Quest 3, Focus 3 and Pico 4. These devices are equipped with motion trackers, integrated cameras and sometimes special controllers. These advances have paved the way for a wide range of applications, from immersive video games to professional simulations, training, medicine and even remote collaboration.

The baseline of our 26th edition is “Act For The Future”. In your opinion, how can immersive technologies impact the world of tomorrow?

Immersive technologies offer multiple possibilities for improvement in almost every sector of activity: whether in training to acquire new skills, in medicine to treat health problems, in tourism through immersive visits and many other advances. Immersive technologies have the potential to reshape various aspects of our lives, offering innovative opportunities in many fields. However, it is also important to consider the ethical, social and privacy challenges that could emerge with the widespread adoption of these technologies.
