For the past 5 years, the young startup Jexplore has been offering virtual reality solutions for career guidance and employment. It organizes workshops and deploys immersive experiences around a hundred different professions. At Laval Virtual, Jexplore will be presenting virtual reality demonstrations that immerse the user in a simulated job. Interview with Guennadiy Pak, President and founder of Jexplore.

Can you tell us more about your company?

Jexplore is an EdTech startup founded in 2020 by Guennadiy Pak. We create solutions to facilitate the career guidance and recruitment process, so that everyone can make an informed choice about their future work, whether they’re at college, on the move with a company or in a career transition phase. Jexplore is organizing workshops and virtual reality professional experiences for over 100 jobs. We also provide educational support, and offer training for guidance and employment professionals.

Jexplore places the individual at the center of the experience of its solutions, because choosing a profession is the result of multiple personal and professional factors, and responds to deep-seated aspirations in a changing society. In this way, Jexplore is helping to meet an important challenge: that everyone should be able to perceive their work as something they have chosen, rather than something they have to endure.

What will you exhibit at Laval Virtual?

Jexplore will be demonstrating our virtual reality orientation solutions. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in a virtual hotel and check whether a room is ready to welcome a guest through an error hunt. This fun experience highlights essential cross-functional skills, while projecting you into a real-life working environment.

There will also be experiments to help you discover over 100 careers, thanks to immersive 5-minute videos that plunge you into the day-to-day life of a professional, to better understand their missions and skills.

Finally, we’ll be focusing on how industrial professions manufacture everything that is part of your daily life. In the virtual home, each object becomes a gateway to a professional who shares their background, skills and role in an innovative company. It’s an approach that will help you identify careers that match your aspirations.

Does your company have an upcoming project to share with us and our visitors?

As part of the EDU UP program, Jexplore is carrying out a research-action project to evaluate virtual reality job discovery workshops for SEGPA (adapted professional education section) students. The project measured the educational impact of two workshop formats over 5 months, as well as the creation of a brand new interactive experience: the virtual world of the hotel industry.

In this virtual world, you are immersed in the Jexplore hotel and have to carry out a mission: check whether a hotel room is ready to receive a guest, by hunting for errors. This experience brings cross-disciplinary skills into play in a real-life situation, allowing learners to be fully immersed in a work situation.

How is your solution transforming your business field?

In the education and employment sector, Jexplore transforms career guidance and training through immersive virtual reality (VR) solutions. We equip professionals to help young people and adults build their career plans.

In partnership with the Académie de Nancy-Metz and the Département des Vosges, Jexplore has equipped and trained two pilot towns, reaching 250 students and young people in integration. Following positive feedback, the solution was deployed in eight additional towns, expanding the profile of beneficiaries and strengthening links between the professional world and the academy. This project was enriched by meetings with stakeholders, including psychiatric hospitals, parents and other key players.

In the private sector, we work with major companies such as the LVMH Group, which uses our solution to present its professions at career and recruitment fairs. We have created 15 virtual reality job immersions in luxury crafts (leather goods, jewelry) and customer experience (boutiques, hotels), equipped HR teams at LVMH with virtual reality headsets, and hosted trade shows in France and Italy. Jexplore designs immersive VR experiences to promote professions, help recruiters recruit more effectively, and enable candidates to choose their profession with complete confidence.

Sustainability and the environment are key topics of this century. How do you cope with these concerns in your XR technologies?

Our immersive videos and virtual reality experiences make it possible to explore more than 100 professions without the need for physical travel, helping to reduce transport-related emissions. They also offer the chance to virtually visit places that are often inaccessible, such as factories or sensitive businesses. By reconditioning our used headsets, we reinforce our commitment to a reduced ecological footprint. We see the future of immersive technologies as an alliance between educational effectiveness, accessibility and environmental sustainability.
