Chat3D is the brainchild of two young engineers from Lyon. After making a debut at CES in Las Vegas in 2024, they will showcase their innovation at the VR/AR event, Laval Virtual, on April 9-11, 2025. Félix Balmonet and Glenn Avezoux have developed software that leverages artificial intelligence to generate 3D elements from text descriptions. Rather than aiming to replace creative professionals, their tool is designed to support small studios, enabling them to develop and launch large-scale projects on par with those of major studios.

Can you tell us more about your company?

Chat3D is a startup specialized in GenAI for 3D. We use different technologies, including image generation, machine learning, Gaussian Splatting and more recently VAE, that enable you to recreate 3D models from an image.

Our business is based on two pillars: a SaaS offer with the sale of licences and a customized approach with personalized development and machine learning applied to client data. Created in 2023, we exhibited at SIGGRAPH, at GDC and other major events of the business sector. We are currently finalizing our fundraising.

What will you exhibit at Laval Virtual?

At Laval Virtual, we will present the latest version of our 3D generation software. With this major update, you can now use multiple input images, making it possible to create an object from different points of view, which is ideal to transform an art concept into a 3D model. At our booth, visitors can test the solution live and attend demos to discover its new features.

How is your solution transforming your business field?

Our solution is for the cultural and creative industries, a sector in crisis where studios are looking to reduce costs while keeping high-quality production. We are not replacing artists, but we provide a tool that enables them to produce more efficiently.

This is particularly essential for independent studios that struggle to compete with the big ones. Thanks to our software, they can multiply their production capacities and stay competitive.

Our approach is based on a strong conviction: today, the main barrier to artists’ creativity is overly complex software interfaces. We develop a solution that simplifies interaction with the software, enabling creators to express themselves more freely and save precious time in their workflow.
