Created 25 years ago, Laval Virtual exhibition endeavors to highlight pioneering uses and innovative companies in the field of virtual reality, immersive technologies and metaverse. In this context, Europe’s biggest event dedicated to XR intends to promote and reward the creator of solutions aiming to revolutionize the business. That’s why every year it delivers the Laval Virtual Awards, a prize which ensures recognition and visibility within the international immersive community. Each year, hundreds of companies try to participate, but there can be only seven winners.
7 general categories and a prestigious ceremony
Each year, the Laval Virtual Awards reward seven VR/AR projects, split in several categories. Each of them valorizes either a sector of activity or a technology:
- Consumer Experience & Entertainment: In this category, the entertainment field is put in the spotlight, and rewards the best immersive experience of the year.
- Developer & Authoring Tools: Dedicated to developers and content creators, this category is looking for the ultimate design tool which enables the creation of the most realistic and immersive experiences.
- Education & Training: It’s about finding the best VR/AR project in the field of education and professional training.
- Enterprise & Productivity Solution: For companies that are continuously searching to boost their performances, the winning will be a goldmine.
- Virtual Worlds & Metaverse: Virtual worlds are the stars of the recent years. Laval Virtual will reward the best online platform with remote collaboration and avatar-related technologies.
- XR Devices & Interactive Products: Hardware oriented, this category honors the most promising VR/AR immersive device of the year (visualization, interaction, haptic…).
- XR for a Cause : This historical category highlights meaningful project, where XR has a positive impact on the world and the society.
Winners of the seven categories will be announced during the prestigious Laval Virtual Awards ceremony on Thursday April 10, 2025, with over 600 worldwide professionals from immersive technologies.
A chance to gain recognition and visibility
With more than 160 international exhibitors and 5,500 qualified visitors, Laval Virtual is Europe’s leading event in the immersive field. Being shortlisted for the Laval Virtual Awards means increased visibility for all three days of the exhibition. It’s also a great opportunity to network and find potential clients or business partners. Selected by a jury of XR experts recognized within the field (visionaries, industrial leaders, designers, researchers…), the projects in the final stage will benefit from guaranteed recognition.
To participate, candidates must send their application before January 24, 2025. Every project will be judged on 6 criteria including technical quality, originality of the innovation, potential of future inspiration, consistency of the project with the theme. In each category, three projects will be picked to take part in the final phase with the hope of maybe winning the long-awaited prize.
