As a developer and integrator of 3D software, Lumiscaphe is dedicated to meeting the specific needs of the industrial sector through photorealistic real-time 3D rendering. Its solutions enable CAD data to be enriched and transferred between a company’s design, engineering, marketing and sales teams. Present at Laval Virtual on April 9-11, 2025, Lumiscaphe will be showing demos of its Digital Blackbone 3D, which facilitates the visualization, design and marketing of industrial products.
Can you tell us more about your company?
Lumiscaphe focuses on the optimization of industrial digital processes thanks to a tailor-made process design, automation and performing 3D softwares. Our solutions easily integrate 3D data and CAD tools in a Digital Backbone 3D that simplifies workflows for product visualization, design and marketing in industrial environments.
What will you exhibit at Laval Virtual?
This year, we will reveal on our booth our strategy for the future of data and 3D applications with the Digital Blackbone 3D. We will be previewing process demonstrations using the Digital Blackbone 3D between the Blender, VRED, VRay and Unity softwares and the Lumiscaphe softwares. Users and clients can watch demonstrations of the new versions of our softwares and our ongoing R&D projects. All with superb 3D models for testing in VR and AR.
During this event, we will have the pleasure to present through a Tech Talk a technical topic that can inspire developers, project managers and product managers that are facing interoperability challenges.
Jean-Christophe Leducq, CEO of Lumiscaphe, will be leading a disruptive session entitled Digital Backbone 3D: “Decompartmentalize your software for tailor-made 3D workflows, during which case studies with demonstrations and feedback will be presented.”
The Digital Blackbone 3D is a new technology that connects specialized 3D softwares to create tailor-made workflows without changing your tools. During our demonstration with Blender and VRED, you will see how this infrastructure automatically synchronizes modifications between applications and manages data from several sources without duplication. As a result, a more fluid collaboration, a better data operation and continuity with your current tools.
Are you planning any activities or demos at your booth?
Yes, both on our stand A107 and during the Tech Talk. On our stand A107, there will be a demonstration of the Digital Backbone 3D, a solution that links your specialized 3D software to create customized, synchronized and collaborative 3D workflows, without changing your tools. During our demonstration with Blender and VRED, the audience will see how this infrastructure automatically synchronizes modifications between applications, and manages data from multiple sources without duplication. The result: smoother collaboration, better use of data and continuity with your existing tools.
We will also make a demo of the new version of our authoring software Patchwork 3D 2025, used to fine-tune a product during the design phase, working in real time on its style, colors and materials. Patchwork 3D transforms native CAD data into animated or non-animated Digital Aspect Models (DAMs).
Finally, there will be a demo of Accel VR, a virtual reality software package designed to visualize 1:1 scale digital appearance models on immersive multi-screen systems.
How is your solution transforming your business field?
Our solution transforms 3D process management by breaking down silos between applications and ensuring seamless interoperability. Our customers, whether in the automotive, aeronautics, furniture or luxury sectors, are confronted with often rigid software infrastructures. Rather than adapting their business to restrictive tools, we suggest they take back control of their digital environment.
How do we do this? By facilitating the interoperability of their software or the migration of their processes to more modular solutions, guaranteeing total sovereignty over their data and reducing their dependence on proprietary ecosystems, while using the most powerful tools on the market and optimizing workflows to accelerate production and improve return on investment.
In the automotive industry, for example, our solutions enable teams to visualize product configurations in real time, regardless of the CAD software used, and automate the generation of images in line with marketing guidelines, freeing up time for innovation.
Our approach goes far beyond simply increasing productivity in the generation of high-quality images: it profoundly transforms the way industrial companies exploit their digital assets, by streamlining inter-departmental collaboration.
Sustainability and the environment are key topics of this century. How do you cope with these concerns in your XR technologies?
At Lumiscaphe, we’re fully aware of today’s environmental challenges. Our Virtual and Augmented Reality tools support our customers’ eco-responsible initiatives.
Our Accel VR virtual reality software is an excellent example. It replaces traditional physical prototyping, which is often costly and polluting, with precise, immersive digital visualization. For example, in the automotive industry, Accel VR enables designers and engineers to validate a design, its volumes and details, without having to build costly clay prototypes. This significantly reduces material wastage, the carbon footprint associated with manufacturing and transporting physical prototypes, and speeds up the design process. Dozens of shape and finish variants can be tested virtually by remote collaborators in a matter of minutes, with a minimum of resources.
In the same vein, our Lumis 3D iOS app offers another approach to sustainability. By enabling mixed-reality visualization of files from Patchwork 3D, it facilitates remote collaboration and reduces the need for travel. A designer can share a digital model with a customer or partner, wherever they may be, without having to organize a physical meeting. This flexibility not only saves time, but also reduces the carbon footprint associated with transport. In addition, mixed reality enables a better understanding of the project, reducing iterations and late modifications, which are often costly in terms of time and resources. Lumis 3D iOS is therefore fully in line with our approach to offering solutions that are both innovative and environmentally friendly.
