Specializing in immersive training, MIMBUS has made a name for itself in manual trades and high-risk environments. For over 10 years, the company has been offering virtual reality solutions to enable students to learn safely and more interactively. MIMBUS will be present at Laval Virtual on April 9-11, 2025, to present its new Cap’rev project, an XR training program for the building and construction jobs.
Can you tell us more about your company?
MIMBUS is a company specializing in immersive technologies for professional training. For over 10 years, we have been developing virtual reality (VR) solutions so that trainees can learn safely through immersive scenarios that enable them to practice in hyper realistic conditions.
Our tools cover many sectors such as woodwork, logistics, chemistry and industry. Thanks to our platform VULCAN, trainers can follow up and evaluate performances of their students in real time. Our mission is to support the transformation of learning methods with innovation solutions to effectively prepare tomorrow’s professionals.
What will you exhibit at Laval Virtual?
During the Laval Virtual 2025 event, MIMBUS will present Cap’rev, an innovative experiment developed in partnership with the technical high-school Jules Verne d’Étaples-sur-Mer and the GIP FCIP of Lille. This project aims at integrating virtual reality into the training of building professions with immersive modules for learning professional gestures and simulations. Each module delivers micro certifications with the help of Open Badges that certify skills acquisition.
Are you planning any activities or demos at your booth?
During the Laval Virtual 2025 event, MIMBUS will present interactive demonstrations of the Solution Cap’rev, enabling visitors to directly experience immersive training modules for the building business. They can test the virtual reality simulation and discover pedagogical tools that were developed for the project. In parallel, Cap’rev will organize a launch party to gather the partners and players of the training sector to discuss the future of immersive technologies for learning.
What is your company’s current innovation?
We are currently working on the integration of artificial intelligence into our solutions, to offer a more optimized support for trainers and training organizations. We are exploring two major approaches: generative AI and predictive AI.
Generative AI enables trainers to design tailor-made pedagogical sessions according to the audience. For example, by writing a simple prompt, AI can offer a structured programme over several weeks, generate interactive contents like quizzes or immersive simulations, and adapt exercises according to the specific needs of the trainees.
Predictive AI, on the other hand, analyzes trainees’ performance in real time thanks to data collected by our simulators. It customizes learning paths by suggesting adapted exercises to the difficulties, detects and corrects mistakes in real time, and offers individualized support. This approach improves the efficiency of the training by optimizing skills acquisition and anticipating future training needs.
From now on, we are working to associate AI and VR to identify skills that can cut across different professions. Thanks to these innovations, MIMBUS contributes to a more immersive and responsive pedagogy, responding to the challenges of the labor market and the lack of workforce.
How is your solution transforming your business field?
Our solutions are transforming the professional training sector by making learning more interactive, secured and efficient. Thanks to virtual reality, trainees can practice complex technical gestures without any risks for themselves or their environment. This is particularly useful in jobs where security is essential, like in construction. Besides, our tools enable the trainers to follow the progress of their students in real time with our platform VULCAN, which optimizes pedagogical support. Finally, our solutions facilitate professional integration by offering training solutions that are more accessible and adapted to the labor market needs.
Sustainability and the environment are key topics of this century. How do you cope with these concerns in your XR technologies?
At MIMBUS, we are aware of the environmental issues at stake and integrate these concerns into our XR training solutions. By enabling trainees to practice in virtual reality, we considerably reduce consumption of raw material and waste production, especially in areas like woodworking or chemistry. In addition, our tools decrease the need to travel for training, reducing carbon footprint.
