For 32 years now, the company IDEM has been proposing hardware rental, including virtual reality headsets. As one of the pioneers in this field, the company offers today the greatest references of VR/AR hardware. IDEM is exhibiting at Laval Virtual 2023 on booth B45. Interview with David Marty, Chief Operating Officer of IDEM.
Can you tell us more about your company?
Since 1991, we have been offering short-term rental solutions for virtual and augmented reality headsets, but also for computers, workstations, printers, monitor screens, tablets and phones. All duration is possible from one day to several weeks or months. We have hundreds of devices ready to be sent in France and Europe within 48 hours maximum. As part of our rental activity, we are the official partner of Microsoft for the short-term rental of Hololens 2 all over Europe.
What will you exhibit at Laval Virtual 2023?
During the event, we will show our products as part of our rental activities of virtual, augmented and mixed reality headsets. At our booth, you can try many professional and consumer headsets: Hololens 2, Meta Quest et Quest 2, HTC, Pico G2 4K et Neo 3.
Laval Virtual is celebrating its 25th edition this year. Do you have any memories to share since the first edition in 1999?
We exhibited at Laval Virtual for the first time back in 2018. Since that day, we have been loyal to this incredible European reunion!
The world of technologies have been transformed with virtual worlds and the Metaverse rising. What are your opinions about these new phenomena?
In my opinion, we are only at the beginning of the era of these new technologies. What is most important now is to make them accessible for everyone so that both professionals and consumers can seize the opportunity to use them.
How do you see the VR field in 10 years?
I believe that virtual reality but also augmented reality will be in our everyday life in the near future. They will no longer be technologies exclusively reserved and only accessible for companies and the business world.
