Laval-based startup, RealityCAD provides XR solutions for computer aided design (CAD). These solutions enable design offices to collaborate together on the same project, online and in immersion, and to visualize CAD files easily. RealityCAD is exhibiting at the Laval Virtual event on VR/AR on April 9-11, 2025, to present the new features of its software suite.
Can you tell us more about your company?
RealityCAD is an XR software editor (virtual reality and augmented reality) for computer aided design (CAD). RealityCAD provides industry leaders with a simple, innovative and high-performance immersive work environment that integrates in the complete creative process of a product–and that for all types of XR equipment.
With RealityCAD, visualize and manipulate your 3D CAD files for design review, virtual prototyping, creating virtual showrooms, immersive commercial presentations, maintainability studies, ergonomics, security, hygiene and overload tests, or even to develop actions to support changes.
The RealityCAD team helps industry players in the implementation of immersive technologies within their company by providing them a software suite that includes RCad’Touch, RCad’Server and RCad’View–a real toolbox for professionals that use a computer aided design software on a daily basis.
What will you exhibit at Laval Virtual?
We will offer demonstrations of our softwares, especially RCad’Touch on Meat Quest 3, Vive XR Elite and Hololens 2 headsets. We will present our technological partnership with Core Technologie for the management of 25 new CAD formats including reference software formats such as Solidwork, SolidEdge, Catia and Inventor. We will also introduce a new use case of our software: the Metrics and 3D Scan in XR that open new perspectives for dimension measurement in industry.
Are you planning any activities or demos at your booth?
We will offer demonstrations of our software, especially RCad’Touch, our key software that instantly exports CAD files and enables you to visualize, manipulate them and create mechanical cinématics. Visitors can test it in virtual and augmented reality, which will highlight our ability to switch from one another easily. Moreover, we will showcase our server product capable of creating immersive meetings in local: XR visioconference by RCad’Server.
What is your company’s current innovation?
We are working deeply on interoperability. Thanks to that, we can provide 25 new CAD formats, adding to the 5 existing and to 3D scan files. It’s also possible to import 360-degree videos to video, images, web page and pdf import. The Pico headset adds itself to the Vive, Meta, Steam, WMR and Hololens 2 headsets. Finally, the last feature is the metrics of XR headsets through environment scans and management of the MX Ink logitech stylus on Meta Quest 3 for a more precise measure analysis.
How is your solution transforming your business field?
In the design domain, whether it’s for review or prototyping for example, our solutions ensure a 75% time saving and to avoid 80% of mistakes. Moreover, 4 times fewer physical prototypes are built. In marketing, the satisfaction of your clients will rise and you will benefit from a “wahou” effect.
Sustainability and the environment are key topics of this century. How do you cope with these concerns in your XR technologies?
Our immersive visioconference solution enables distant design offices to work on the same project remotely without the need to travel. It’s also a solution for remote work. We fight against obsolescence by guaranteeing a follow up of the versions on headsets that are no longer on the market.
