A young company in the world of immersive technologies, Wintor offers companies to create their own augmented reality tours. Thanks to a platform, professionals can easily create guided tours, without the need for complex code. Wintor will be exhibiting at Laval Virtual on April 12-14, 2023 on booth SU6. Interview with Freek Teunen, Chief Commercial Officer.
Can you present your company?
Wintor makes it incredibly easy to create your own AR tours. We utilize location-based AR technology and added an easy-to-use editor on top of it. AR tours are great for museums, cities and businesses. Our end-clients are museums, city marketing departments and also HR departments who utilize the AR Tours for onboarding employees.
What will you exhibit at Laval Virtual 2023?
Because of Laval Virtual, we launched a French version of the app and will be presenting that for the first time in public. We will be open to business opportunities to launch a first public AR tour for tourists in France this year!
The world of immersive tech was shaken up by the rise of the Metaverse and virtual worlds. What is your opinion on these?
I see that devices are getting more graphical power and users getting used to games and AR filters. With the coninuing development of more powerful devices and the trend of working with VR and AR, I believe the devices will develop to better fit these 3D interfaces. For many industries, 3D interfaces make more sense than 2D screens. I do believe computers as we know them today, will have changed within the next 15 years. I also think the pace will not be as quick as people might hope (or expect).
How do you see the VR world in 10 years?
In 10- years I hope to see VR e-sports has taken off. I do believe B2B will be the first sector to adopt VR for training most, the biggest sector after gaming probably by then. I also hope all healthcare professionals have adopted VR for therapy and distraction during difficult situations.
